The Maker's Playground

Where every childcan play.

A premiere all-inclusive playground in Albertville, Alabama — 10,350 square feet of fenced, shaded, soft-turf play designed beyond ADA standards. Free and open to everyone, seven days a week, sunrise to sunset.

Plan your visit

Find us on the First Baptist Church of Albertville property, across from the Albertville Public Library. The playground is open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset, and it’s completely free — no membership, no registration, no gate fee.

Who can play

Everyone — the TMC playground is for all! It’s designed so children of every ability can play side by side, and parents who use wheelchairs can join the fun too. Play here builds friendships and self-esteem, supports mental health, and gives families a place to work on therapy goals without it ever feeling like therapy.

Built for everyone
Truly inclusive equipment

Swings, a zip line, the Ten Spin, the Inclusive Whirl (a wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round), the Buddy Rocker, the Glide Along, the Momentum Corridor, a large roller slide, and sensory panels throughout.

Beyond ADA

ADA compliance mainly covers slopes, doorways, and handrails — it doesn’t promise a child can actually play. We built past it: oversized ramps put the main structure within reach of every child, and every parent.

A safe, soft surface

10,350 square feet of artificial turf with padded fall zones rated to eight feet around the equipment — completely fenced, with security cameras recording 24/7.

Shade & comfort

Two 30-foot shades cover the main play structure, and a covered pavilion with picnic tables and benches keeps the whole family comfortable.

Restrooms for everyone

Two large, fully accessible restrooms — each with a changing table.

Free & open to all

No tickets, no gates, no schedule to work around. Seven days a week, sunrise to sunset, for the whole community.

Common questions
Where is the playground?

On the First Baptist Church of Albertville property, directly across from the Albertville Public Library.

When is it open, and what does it cost?

Seven days a week, sunrise to sunset — and it’s completely free.

What's the difference between ADA-compliant and inclusive?

ADA compliance mainly applies to the slopes of the grade, the size of doorways, and handrails — it doesn’t guarantee that a child with a disability can actually use the equipment. An inclusive playground is designed so every child can play, not just enter.

How is the playground kept safe?

The whole space is fenced, security cameras record 24/7, and the synthetic turf has padded protective zones with an eight-foot fall rating around the equipment.

Can parents with disabilities join the play?

Yes — oversized ramps mean a parent using a wheelchair can accompany their child onto the main structure and around the whole playground.

Are there other playgrounds like this nearby?

The closest comparable inclusive playgrounds are about 50 minutes away in Owens Cross Roads, and more than two hours away in Auburn and Tuscaloosa. That’s exactly why we built this one.

Can we reserve it for a birthday party?

Yes — the playground and pavilion can be booked for private parties. Use the booking form above, or email info@themakerschild.org.
