Volunteer training

Comfortable, informed,and ready to serve.

As a volunteer for The Maker’s Child Respite, we provide training in multiple ways to help you be comfortable, well informed, and prepared to enjoy a blessed night of serving. You may prefer to learn by reading or by listening — either way, we have you covered.

Prefer to listen?
Watch the training videos

Short role-by-role videos that walk you through exactly what a respite night looks like and what your role will be.

Prefer to read?
Read the volunteer guide

The complete written training document — every volunteer role, safety expectations, and how the evening flows from check-in to pick-up.

How it works

01

Complete your training

Watch the videos or read the guide — whichever suits you. It covers every volunteer role so you can find the one that fits you best.

02

Choose a role for the night

Head to the events page, pick an upcoming respite night, and sign up for the role that interests you.

03

Enjoy a night of serving

Respite nights are one Friday evening a month, 6:00–8:30 PM — volunteer hours begin around 5:00–5:30 and end around 9:00 PM. Show up, love the kids well, and bless a family with an evening of rest.
